28/8/12 - Moving Forwards
Following troubles over the last two years, we have elected to perform at the end of October/start of November in 2013. This move should allow people to go on holiday without having to worry about show commitments.

24/7/12 - We Open in Venice
Opening night tonight for STC's second ever show, and it's set to be a roaring success. The band are shaping up to be one of the best ever to grace the Marven Centre, the cast have been polishing up their lines and notes, and the tickets have nearly all sold. To get hold of the last few, message boxoffice@sawstonyouthdrama.com for more information.

16/7/12 - Showtime
Show week is almost upon is for our second show with STC, and the usual last minute rush of rehearsals and pushing tickets has taken over! Things are going brilliantly and this is set to be a truly amazing show, but we need an audience to perform to! Tickets are £8, though SYD members get in free if they come with someone who pays. To book contact boxoffice@sawstonyouthdrama.com

2/5/12 - Backing You Up
Backing tracks with piano for chorus songs are now online under the Kiss Me Kate page (hover over STC to see where I mean!). Have a listen and sing along, we'll have these chorus numbers cracked in no time at all! Please also note that next rehearsal falls on a Bank Holiday, and subsequently we will be rehearsing in the Marven Centre from 7.30, singing over solo and duet lines, instead of chorus bits and bobs as usual.

6/4/12 - Casting Confirmed
The cast for Kiss Me Kate has been confirmed after an extended callbacks period. Our first rehearsal session will be on Monday 16th April, where we will begin to tackle chorus singing for 6 weeks before moving on to setting scenes.

23/3/12 - Auditions Auditioned
Well done to all who auditioned, the word from the panel was that everyone did a great job and we will have a fantastic cast. Rehearsals for the show start up on Monday 16th April, and the cast list will be announced soon. More information as it becomes available.

22/2/12 - Everybody Raise a Glass!
On Saturday the STC group met with professionals from the West End who came to run a Les Miserables workshop - putting us through our paces in three numbers from the show - "At the End of the Day", "The People's Song" and "Master of the House". It was an exhausting but brilliant day, and we all thoroughly enjoyed both the challenge and the excitement of being able to perform numbers from the show. Members of SYD Juniors came to watch our performances and loved it - they dive in to rehearsal for their May production of Les Mis tonight. Our next STC session will be on Monday 5th March, to discuss Kiss Me, Kate.

27/01/12 - Kiss Me, Kate!
STC are proud to announce that our 2012 production will be "Kiss Me, Kate", another Cole Porter musical, to follow the success of last year's Anything Goes. The show will run Tuesday 24th -Thursday 26th July, the earlier dates are due to the Olympic Games opening at the end of the month. In addition to this exciting news, the STC cast will be undertaking a Les Miserables workshop in February half term to keep the group together and have some fun.

25/09/11 - The Aftermath
Since our production of Anything Goes, it has been rather quiet on the STC front. A group of the cast met up this week to catch up and stay in touch, though we look forwards to our theatre trip to see South Pacific on the 20th of October. The STC Committee have been discussing future plans and are currently looking through possible shows for performance in July 2012 - more details to follow.
