SATURDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2010
Believe it or not, the SYD group has been running for (over!) 40 years now, and has changed dramatically over the years to involve more young people via more groups. Since the groups formation for rehearsals in 1969, around 900 young people have performed with SYD over the years, though many stick around for several shows, unable to forget their fond memories.
As part of the 40th celebrations, the anniversary committee organised a reunion event and open day for all members of Sawston Youth Drama across the years, showcasing the talent of the 2010 group as well as reconnecting with those who previously passed through the doors. You can download an invitation to see what the day was about.
Articles popped up in local magazines and papers regarding the reunion towards the date, and an online copy of the Cambridge News article can still be viewed by clicking here.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary we published a souvenir booklet packed full of pictures, information, a full history of shows and a complete listing of every member, leader, and orchestra player to ever take part in a SYD production.
Download digital copy of the Souvenir Booklet. Please note that the quality of the digital copy is far lower than the hard copy, and while it is representative of the finished product, the downloadable version is only a final draft.
